Residents of Pampanga can expect a significant boost in coastal security and disaster response with the upcoming completion of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) station in San Simon.
The PCG announced the construction of the new station on a 2,000-square-meter lot within the San Simon government center. The facility will house at least 50 PCG personnel dedicated to safeguarding the province’s coastline, conducting critical rescue operations during emergencies, and maintaining peace and order in the region.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the station, held on June 5th, was led by Pampanga 4th District Representative Anna York Bondoc and PCG Marine Environmental Protection Command Commander, Vice Admiral Roy Echeverria. Notably, Representative Bondoc championed this project, securing PHP8 million in funding to support the station’s infrastructure development.
This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to strengthening Pampanga’s preparedness for disasters and ensuring the safety and security of its coastal communities.
