Taiwanese firm BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corp. (BBI) is set to invest an additional P15 billion in developing an eco-friendly integrated township in Clark. The lease agreement for this ambitious project was signed on July 31 at the Clark Visitors Center by Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, president and CEO of Clark Development Corp. (CDC), and Edgar Lim, director for corporate flagship projects at BBI.
Devanadera expressed confidence in the partnership, stating, “When we signed our lease agreement, both of us made a very good decision. For us, in taking you, BBI, and for you, in choosing Clark. Thank you, BBI.”
Lim echoed this sentiment, acknowledging CDC’s support and expressing enthusiasm for the project: “We are very grateful and excited for this opportunity to invest in a very special project that will rise in Clark. We will work hand-in-hand with the CDC in bringing this eco-township dream to reality.”
The P15-billion investment will fund the construction of the 101-hectare Midori Highlands, which aims to seamlessly blend green spaces with urban living. The development will feature high-rise condominiums and a logistics center, alongside sustainable amenities such as a rainwater collector, a solar farm, and energy-efficient transportation.
BBI president Wun Xu Wu provided more details on the project’s phases. Phase 1 will cover 24 hectares and include eight blocks designed to create an urban enclave surrounded by green spaces. Phase 2 will offer 50 luxury mountain villas with eco-friendly designs, featuring living and dining areas as well as private patios.
In addition to residential developments, the Midori Highlands Resorts and Spa will feature a coffee shop overlooking the Sacobia River, spa facilities, and ten exclusive villas, each equipped with a private jacuzzi.
BBI has been a prominent presence in Clark since September 29, 2006, operating the Midori Clark Hotel and Casino and the Aqua Planet water theme park. This latest investment underscores their continued commitment to the region and their vision for sustainable urban development.
