In a heartfelt intimate awarding ceremony held on June 26, Municipal Mayor Rodencio “Ruding” Gonzales personally delivered a PHP 100,000 cash incentive to centenarian Lola Encarnacion. This gesture of recognition and support was facilitated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region III Office.
Lola Encarnacion celebrated her 100th birthday on April 29, an occasion that not only marks a significant personal milestone but also aligns with the provisions of Republic Act 10868. This law, dedicated to honoring Filipino centenarians, ensures that individuals like Lola Encarnacion receive additional benefits and privileges in recognition of their remarkable longevity.
The event was graced by the presence of several key officials who contributed to the momentous occasion. Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) Ms. Sharmaine Pabustan-Sigua and Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) head Mr. Fernando Vital joined Mayor Ruding Gonzales in presenting the cash incentive. Representing the DSWD Region III Office was Mr. Vincent Pineda, further underscoring the collaborative effort to honor centenarians.
Mayor Ruding Gonzales extended his gratitude to the DSWD Region III, led by Regional Director Venus F. Rebuldela and Regional Social Pension Unit (RSPU) Mr. Jasper P.
