Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. led the blessing and inauguration of two new primary care facilities in Barangays Tabun and Cutud on March 12, 2025. With these additions, Angeles City now has a total of 10 operational Rural Health Units (RHUs), strengthening the city’s commitment to accessible healthcare.
Lazatin emphasized that with four more RHUs set to open this month, the city is closer to achieving the ideal number of healthcare centers for its growing population. Five additional RHUs are also planned for Barangays Pulungbulu, Anunas, Capaya, Amsic, and Balibago.
“When I took office in 2019, the city had only six RHUs. In 2023, we initiated the construction of nine more primary care facilities,” Lazatin shared.
Aside from expanding health facilities, Lazatin is also ensuring that each RHU is well-stocked with essential medicines. His leadership follows in the footsteps of his father, former First District Rep. and Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin, who believed that “those who have less in life must have more from the government.”
With these efforts, Angeles City continues to prioritize healthcare, making quality medical services more accessible to every resident.
