Flavors of Pampanga shine at food expo
The One Pampanga Food Expo officially opened at SMX Convention Center Clark, turning the spotlight on the province’s reputation as the culinary capital of the Philippines. Running from September 13 to 14, the expo draws food lovers, chefs, and tourists eager to taste Pampanga’s rich mix of tradition and innovation.
The event brings together local restaurants, food entrepreneurs, agribusinesses, and artisans in a single venue. Visitors are treated to signature dishes such as sizzling sisig, heirloom recipes passed down through generations, and fresh reinterpretations of Kapampangan specialties. Alongside tastings, the expo highlights the growing influence of Pampanga’s food industry on both the local and international stage.
Beyond the food stalls, guests can attend cooking demonstrations, masterclasses, and discussions led by culinary experts. The program also includes food pairings, product samplings, and opportunities to connect with homegrown brands.
Chef Felix Asuncion, the event’s lead convenor, described the expo as both a tribute to heritage and a vision for the future. “This expo is a celebration of who we are as Kapampangans—passionate about food, family, and tradition. At the same time, it’s also about looking forward and showing how our cuisine can continue to evolve and inspire,” he said during the opening ceremony.
By bringing together diverse players in the food sector, the One Pampanga Food Expo underscores the province’s unique place in the national food culture. Families, tourists, and culinary enthusiasts are expected to flock to the two-day event to experience Pampanga’s unmatched flavors.
