Angeles City to make a “Sisig rain” for Sisig Fiesta 2018

Locals, tourists, and sisig lovers get ready this coming April 28 for Angeles City will again make a “Sisig Rain” or known as the “arguably best pork dish in the world” according to New York Times as Sisig Fiesta 2018 will take place at the Train Station ‘Crossing’ of the area.

The Sisig Fiesta 2018 is a gastronomic event where numerous varieties of Sisig wiil be showcase through the creativity and distinct taste in food of Kapampangans.

Festival-goers will expect a lot of activities at the event like mouthwatering cooking demonstration or competitions from celebrity chefs that will highlight the evolution of Sisig, music and dance performances will also entertain the tourists.

Angeles City, lone city in Central Luzon which is a former part of Pampanga, is where the unique and tasty Kapampangan pork dish “sisig babi” originated. It was also the place where Sisig was served ti be a “pulutan” or an appetizer that complements alcoholic drinks like beer.

Meanwhile, Fresh Options, a meat shop which originated from Angeles City as well, will take a huge part in the fiesta.

Sisig is a Kapampangan dish made from parts of a pig’s head and liver that is usually seasoned with calamansi and chili peppers.

The word sisig was first mentioned in a Kapampangan dictionary in the late 17th century that means to snack on something sour and salad.
